Chatbot for a nationwide survey in Ukraine

Description of project stages on the RatingBot service:

🚀 At the request of the NGO “Institute of Cognitive Modeling”, together with the Center for Social Monitoring and the Agency “First Rating System”,
A chatbot was created to determine the public mood of Ukrainians as of the beginning of March 2022, during the martial law in Ukraine.

1️⃣ The survey is considered to have started from the moment of following the link in the SMS message to the “start page of the project” and getting acquainted with the bot sent to 📲 mobile numbers of respondents, which are generated randomly.

2️⃣ In the next step, the respondent chooses a convenient Telegram or Viber messenger, in which the chatbot simulates a conversation with the interviewer in the form of 💬 “Question-Answer” and in the form of 🎮 game answer options are selected.

3️⃣ All results are automatically sent to the RatingBot server after each answer, which also allows you to get incomplete questionnaire results.

📊 The data set is available in Excel and SPSS formats. One-dimensional distribution tables in the form of 🔢 frequencies and% percent are automatically provided by the service.

🛂 The bot not only controls 🔄 the logic of transitions that are included in the questionnaire, but also automatically manages the filling of 👫 quota task, according to the sample for the project. Thus, 💯% representative result is provided for all categories of respondents.

Research methodology:

• Terms of the study: March 4 – 6, 2022;
• The results are representative at the level of the whole country, according to statistics for the beginning of 2022, in terms of age (over 18 years), gender, type of settlement (city / village) and division by region; The poll was not conducted in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and in parts of Donetsk and Luhansk oblasts not controlled by the Ukrainian authorities;
• A total of 2,000 respondents were interviewed;
• Research method: online survey (Computer Assisted Web Interviewing) using the new RatingBot technology, inviting respondents to participate in the survey in Telegram and Viber messengers, based on a random sample of mobile phone numbers;
• Standard deviation of sample representativeness indicators (confidence interval) +/- 2.4%
• The average duration of one interview was up to 2 minutes.

Разом з Центром «Соціальний моніторинг» та агенцією «Перша рейтингова система» ми провели дослідження, яке присвячене політичним установкам та емоційному стану українців в умовах війни. 

За результатами дослідження рівень довіри до президента Володимира Зеленського значно виріс з початку російської агресії проти України та досягла позначки у майже 80%, в перемогу над окупантом впевнені 78% опитуваних.

Крім того, більшість опитуваних – 75,3% за останній тиждень уже допомогли ЗСУ, бійцям територіальній обороні або волонтерам. Це неймовірно🤩 

Ми не тільки найтурботливіша нація, а й дуже терпляча. Оскільки 43,6% опитуваних готові терпіти незручності та проблеми, пов’язані з війною, щоб забезпечити мир на умовах України стільки, скільки необхідно.
